The Traditional Religions Day, or Fête du Vodoun, is a public holiday in Benin which celebrates the nation's history surrounding the West African religion of Vodoun. The celebration is held annually on January 10 since 1996.
Voodoo, also called vodun, vodon, vodoun, vodu, voudu, etc., is a religion originating in West Africa, where it is still practiced today by members of the Ewe, Kabye, Adja, Mina and Fon ethnic groups of Togo, Benin, Ghana and Nigeria.
