February 23 is celebrated in Venezuela as Industrial Technicians Day, to recognize one more year of functions of the Colegio de Peritos y Técnicos Industriales de Venezuela (Venezuelan Association of Industrial Technicians and Experts).
On this date, tribute is also paid to the illustrious engineer Luis Alberto Caballero, who was an important promoter and driver of technical education in the country. For his outstanding work, he was decorated as director of the School of Arts and Crafts of Caracas and, in 1937, he got the Ministry of Education to qualify these institutions with the name of industrial technical schools.
In 1958, the Colegio de Peritos y Técnicos Industriales de Venezuela was formed from the graduates of these schools.
These professionals have the technical and technological knowledge to develop, design and analyze different elements in the areas of chemistry, mechanics or electronics.
