Every weekend in January, it's all about the sausage in Neuwied. The festival took place in Neuwied for the first time in 2007. The idea came about because there were always numerous applications from snack bar operators for municipal events that could not be met, according to the city of Neuwied. As a result, there were just over a handful of snack stands at the first Currywurst Festival. But in subsequent years, stall operators came to Neuwied from far and wide.
However, when up to 25 sophisticated sauce creations are offered at some stands at the Currywurst Festival in Neuwied at the weekend, it is worth taking a closer look at the menu. One highlight is the extra sausage competition for the very hungry.
