It would appear that the reason of creating this special day is trivial – people who needed to appreciate all the effort connected with bringing up children decided that it would be nice to have one day in a year in order to make all fathers feel appreciated and special. It is traditional for a Romanian man to ask a father’s permission before proposing to his daughter. Some Roma groups, such as the Roma Gabor, may give cash gifts in the engagement process. This is given with an intention to persuade the recipient family to accept the proposal and not that of someone else.
Father's day is celebrated almost everywhere around the world to pay tribute to all dads who take care of their children with passion, commitment and love. Father's Day (Ziua Tatălui) is a special day for fathers and father figures in Romania on the second Sunday of May. This observance follows Mother's Day on the first Sunday of May.
