Gandhi Jayanti or Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti was born on October 2, 1869 in Porbandar, Gujarat; died January 30, 1948, New Delhi. He was an Indian political and public figure, one of the leaders and ideologists of the Indian independence movement from Great Britain. His philosophy of non-violence - satyagraha - influenced the movement for peaceful change.
