On May 26, 1947, the father of public health in Argentina, Dr. Ramón Carrillo publicly considered that medical propaganda agents had an essential function as health auxiliaries. This is how the day of the medical visitor was born.
Medical visitor is the person in charge of visiting the doctors' offices of each specialty and offering them information about new products or medicines that have recently been developed in the pharmaceutical industry or reinforcing the permanence of those already instituted.
