For pet parents across the world, the first week in October is celebrated as National Walk Your Dog Week. Founded in 2010 by Celebrity Pet Lifestyle Expert and Animal Advocate, Colleen Paige, the holiday was designed to raise awareness of canine obesity and highlight the importance of exercising your dog and the benefits that this can have on their overall health and wellbeing.
Benefits include improved cardiovascular fitness, lower blood pressure, stronger muscles and bones (built up by walking regularly), and decreased stress. A regular walk is vitally important for your pet's health too.
