Cuban Science Day is celebrated every January 15. The date was instituted in 1990, coinciding with the 30th anniversary of the date on which the leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro, defined the role of science in the country's development. "The future of our country must necessarily be a future of men of science, it must be a future of men of thought (...)", Fidel foresaw in a historic speech at the Paraninfo of the Academy of Sciences in 1960. The future of the Homeland - as Fidel warned - is already a present that has "a brilliant pleiad of men of thought, researchers and scientists", the scientific community is growing and the road to intelligence and knowledge continues to be cultivated, let's hope.
