The International Union for Conservation of Nature Horseshoe Crab Specialist Group invites people around the world to celebrate the value of horseshoe crabs in our coastal ecosystems on June 20, 2020. The world's horseshoe crab populations are in decline largely due to overharvesting and habitat loss.
In further extending their public outreach activities around the world, the IUCN SSC Horseshoe Crab Specialist Group have designated 20th June every year as the International Horseshoe Crab Day to showcase the collective conservation efforts for the four horseshoe crab species.
