It is a day to recognize work and dedication, since a committed secretary combines four qualities: efficiency, dynamism, personality and loyalty.
This date has its origin in the "Day of the Interamerican Secretary", agreed in memory of the first Interamerican Congress of Secretaries, in 1970, where the "Interamerican Federation of Secretaries Associations" (FIAS) was founded.
FIAS is an international, apolitical, secular, autonomous, cultural, non-profit, professional and representative institution. It has its headquarters in San Salvador, Republic of El Salvador, the country that granted it its legal status and where its Permanent Secretariat operates.
