Bolivian Salesman's Day

In Peru, salesmen's day is celebrated in April, in Argentina, Brazil and Colombia, the last days of September and the first days of October. There is a trend in Latin America that seeks to unify the Latin American salesperson's day for October 1st.

In Bolivia, as of 2022, there is no official special day to celebrate this esteemed profession. However, there is a Newspaper Salesmen's Day.

The plenary of the Chamber of Senators approved on Friday a Chamber Declaration of recognition to the Association of Newspaper Vendors "27 de Mayo" of the city of La Paz in commemoration of its anniversary (05/25/2018).

"To render a just and deserved recognition to its associates in their 25 years, to be celebrated on May 27, who committed to their passion of distributing printed information, thus contributing to the objectives of the Plurinational State of Bolivia", states the document.

The Association was created on May 27, 1993 with six members, after separating from the Central Newspaper Sellers Union. It currently has more than a hundred members, most of them women, which is why it is named after the day on which the Bolivian Mother is honored. Recall that on May 17 has been instituted as the Day of the Canillita, by means of a law of January 6, 1961.
