In Peru, every June 1st is commemorated the anniversary of the Peruvian Youth Red Cross (Día de la Cruz Roja Juventud). On the same date in 1931, at the initiative of Doctor and Teacher Antonio Ayllón Pastor, the First Red Cross Cadet Unit was created in the Boys Vocational School of Lima.
The Peruvian Red Cross develops its social commitment through an action oriented towards transformation, governed by the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement: Humanity, Impartiality, Neutrality, Independence, Voluntary Service, Unity and Universality.
