The Virgin of Itatí is a Marian devotion venerated in the city of Itatí, province of Corrientes, Argentina. The story has its origin in one of the banks of the Paraná River in Argentina. The stories around the religious figure date back to the 16th century, when in the early years a Franciscan group arrived on the shores of land that was the possession of the cacique Yaguarón. The visitors brought with them an image of the Immaculate Conception that was placed in what would be the first oratory built by hand, a place where the Guarani Indians went to venerate her.
