This festivity takes place on July 16, in the town of Alvarado, masses, processions, fireworks and music are held. It is worth mentioning that sometimes the Virgin is paraded through the waters of Alvarado in small boats. In addition, the typical food of this region is enjoyed and popular dances are organized.
One of the most important events is undoubtedly the celebration of the feast of the Virgen del Carmen, patron saint of the town, held in July. On these dates the municipality also organizes the famous Expocar fair that presents the handicrafts and typical products of the region.
