National Amateur Radio Day in Chile

Currently in Chile there are more than 6000 Radio Amateurs and every day more and more followers are added to this hobby that enchants and wonders.

In 2016 was enacted Law 20.946, which establishes August 14 as "National Amateur Radio Day" recognizing their contribution to the country in various fields throughout its history.

The radio amateurs of Chile fulfill a fundamental work when catastrophes occur, they are always communicated despite power outages and when cellular signals are down....

Radio amateurs have always been an important part of communications, in times of catastrophes their services have been fundamental, as well as they have also stood out for making known places of country to the world and they do it through the radio waves.
