On November 9, 1917, the Argentine film "The Apostle", by Quirino Cristiani, the first animated feature film in history, was released.
Argentine National Animation Day Law No 27,326 of December 15, 2016, Article 1: Let November 9 of each year be instituted as the Argentine National Animation Day, in commemoration of the premiere of The Apostle, the first animated feature film in history, made in Argentina by Quirino Cristiani.
Born in Italy on July 2, 1896, Quirino Cristiani arrived in Argentina in 1900. From a very early age he had an inclination for drawing and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts. He approached professional animation working with the film producer Federico Valle.
