Carbonara ) is an Italian pasta dish from Rome made with egg, hard cheese, cured pork, and black pepper. The dish arrived at its modern form, with its current name, in the middle of the 20th century.
The Italian Association of Pastry Industries and (AIDEPI) and the International Pasta Organization (IPO) created National Carbonara Day in 2017 to celebrate the dish that millions of pasta lovers identify as the taste of Italy.
