Victoria, Crown Princess of Sweden, Duchess of Västergötland is the heir apparent to the Swedish throne, as the eldest child of King Carl XVI Gustaf. She became the heir apparent to the Swedish throne on January 1, 1980, after the Act of Succession law was amended to include female successors. But even though the royal family as a whole is not very popular, Crown Princess Victoria as an individual, is. Her popularity is sky high, which partly has to do with how Swedes feel she does her job.
Her ascension to the throne would make her the 4th ever female Swedish monarch and the 1st Queen since 1720.
