Easter Monday is the day after Easter Sunday and is a holiday in some countries. Today is Easter Monday, or Bright Monday as it is called in the Eastern Orthodox Church, or Dyngus Day as it is celebrated by Polish Americans. Another one of our Easter Monday facts is that Easter Monday is called “Pasquetta” in Italy.
One of the most fun Easter Monday facts happens in Germany. In the early morning, people hold Easter egg races in their local fields, just like the egg and spoon race.
In Guyana, people fly homemade kites that were made on Holy Saturday (the day before Easter Sunday) on Easter Monday.
In England on Easter Monday, a village called Hallaton, Leicestershire, holds a bottle kicking contest where the winning team is able to kick or move a bottle a mile from the starting point over two streams.
