By Legislative Decree No. 422 of July 7, 2016, the "National Coffee Day" will be celebrated on October 1 of each year, joining the international celebration determined by the International Coffee Organization (ICO). This October 1 marks the National Coffee Day, a date dedicated to one of the productive sectors with more history, culture and development in El Salvador.

The Salvadoran Coffee Council will be the institution in charge of preparing one of the most important celebrations for the coffee sector.
