Nachos are one of the most shareable snacks ever created. But did you know, nachos are named after their inventor? Ignacio “Nacho” Anaya created the iconic dish in 1943.

Nachos is the food most craved by pregnant women. The first known appearance of the word “nachos” in English dates to 1949, from the book A Taste of Texas. A school in Kansas holds the record for the largest plate of nachos in the world. The platter weighed a whopping 4,689 pounds.

Every year on October 21, people around the world celebrate International Nacho Day and the tasty and delicious nacho. This day also encourages others to try nachos for the first time. International Nacho Day is an annual event that encourages all-day festivities on October 21.

This popular appetizer also makes a great snack. If nachos contain enough ingredients, many nacho lovers eat them as a complete meal. When most people think of nachos, they think of tortilla chips covered in melted cheese. However, it never hurts to add a bunch of toppings!
