Holiday Calendar in Switzerland in July
Every canton of Switzerland has its own public holiday calendar. Some holidays may not be observed in certain cantons while some other are specific to only a certain town or village. There is only one federal holiday in Switzerland - the Swiss National Day. It is set on 1 August and observed in all 26 cantons. New Year’s Day, Ascension, and Christmas Day are also public holidays, traditionally celebrated throughout the country.
